- “I remember us discussing the 3 kinds of friendships and it was fantastic thinking how if we think hard enough we can categorize the kind of friendships we have to fit one of these categories. Your blog though made me think of a different concept and that was how some friendships can transform over time to a different category. I personally believe the actions our friends make allows us to identify how real of a friend they really are. I loved the blog and your idea of friendship.”

2. “This topic was conflicting for me as well but I believe your post has the same mindset as mine. The people who would generally sell organs would be from the lower class which I think would occur when its the last option or a time of a family’s deep struggle. The thing that worries me is the restrictions in relation to legalizing organ selling. There should be a limit to how many organs a person can actually sell to avoid any fatal health issues. I also think there should be a minimum payment be known to the general public because in a time of need even a $100 could seem life-saving. I loved the post.”
3. “Hi Emmanuel,
I enjoyed your blog because it reminded me of a dog I had named Ozzy. Ozzy was a good dog as he understood directions, was nice to kids, and alerted the house when people were near. Sadly, he would shed everywhere and cause the house to be full of dog hair which was required to be cleaned up daily so we had to put him outside. Even though it was for the right reason it felt similar to yours. I also think you identifying the abuse of power leading to mistreatment as a major factor of injustice as it is crucial people use their power for good so that others may follow that path. Thanks for your blog”
4. “I enjoyed reading your post and entirely agree with your position on how female mutilation should not be acceptable in any society or culture. I also liked your example about how some people see spanking as a reasonable disciplinary action while others see it as another form of abuse. I personally believe the environment you are grown in allows you to adapt to what should be acceptable and not acceptable which makes it hard if someone from a different culture, area, or way of life comes in and calls your way wrong. Thanks for your blog very insightful.”
5. “Your post on injustice was relatable to one of my own life experiences of injustice. I have always had an intimidating complexion due to the scars on my face and body figure. Since I gave off this image it allowed people to make assumptions of me which would cause me to be blamed for many things despite me never actually doing anything. It happened recently as I was walking to the transit to head to college. I saw a Sheriff drive by very fast then suddenly do a u-turn and head back towards me. He drove slowly next to me then after a few seconds of awkward staring got out and questioned me as to what I was doing and where I was going. I even had to show my transit pass as proof I was a college student. There were several other people that day. I appreciate you sharing this story and know the feeling of being the victim of injustice.”
6. ” I enjoyed the post and you including the recent pandemic as an example of influencing one’s actions. Certain situations allow people to react in an uncommon way which doesn’t allow moral reasoning to be the first priority as you said in your post. I also agree impartiality is more important in situations like this. “
7. “I agree with your position. Its been unfair for too long to not allow the larger majority of people to not be allowed the same resources as others who have more than they need. I also like your statement about how the value of $1 is seen differently by people. The main fear of open borders was the same as yours regarding the animals and higher demand for meat. Thanks for your blog.”
8. ” I liked the blog as it went in debt with Mill’s perspective of how people of higher intelligence can fall to lower indulgences. It’s sad to me personally thinking how mill believes this occurs due to our limited access to other things. I see this as a problem because the younger you are the less freedom you have to things to indulge in. This could cause a problem later on as you would prefer not to move forward since you are comfortable with your current indulgences. This would cause someone not to pursue much higher levels of happiness as it might take you out of a comfort zone you had created for yourself. “
9. “I agree with your post. I like how you stated that it’s our body and therefore our rights what we should be allowed to do with it. I think your idea of Utilitarianism is true as they believe the benefit of happiness for a larger amount is a virtue which relates to someone being able to sell an organ for others as it could be needed to save a loved one. If someone was in the position where selling an organ could provide food for their family and at the same time save a life why should that be opposed? Thanks for the blog.”
10. “Hi Carmen,
I agree with your post on how people should find commonalities to achieve peace and how those can be found by people’s objectives being similar like pursuing education. I had an instance where this occurred changing a hostile situation into a new friend. Someone made a very offensive comment on my complexion where I simply ignored it which made them furious. After a while of not reacting, they tried to start a fight outside the college math class. He was mad that I would just ignore him and even avoided hearing him out so I laughed and said: ” Listen I got a test today, I work full time and have 5 classes I don’t even have the time to start a fight. So you do you ” the guy actually started laughing and explained it as well then apologized for his outburst. Some random guy found the struggle of college as a respectable commonality making him ashamed of even making such a negative statement towards me. I told him I was heading to Starbucks so he followed and we talked about our math class. A rememberable moment of how commonalities can create peace.”
11. ” I agree with your post. Some things may seem acceptable in one society but viewed as unethical in others. Your example of family responsibilities was perfect as it demonstrates what people find acceptable and it was very clear that you see someone being “Man of the house” and not contributing towards housework is oppressive which I agree. I learned from a recent interview with an older lady that women would actually be labeled to just cook and clean as if it was their only function in life and how it was acceptable during those times as it was common. This to me seems unreasonable but it wasn’t back then which again restates how one person sees something acceptable while another may not due to the surrounding environment. “
12. ” Your story was very deep and I appreciate you sharing it. It’s sad when sometimes the love for someone can cause us to be blind to their actions like how the mom was to her daughter’s stealing habits. It surprised me that even though they got caught and were punished the mother still felt her daughters’ actions had nothing to do with her parenting. Her daughter was her responsibility and her lack of parenting was the injustice. Thanks for the story. “
13. ” I agree with your post. I like how you used prior knowledge of Mill and his views to predict his response to a student missing class. I also think he would be ashamed in a person choosing to miss education which could produce a long term and higher sense of happiness for a few more minutes of sleep which provides a small short term of happiness. “
14. ” Wow, I am sorry for the injustice you have faced. It’s sad to know that someone having biased feelings against you based on past or personal assumptions allows them to feel justified to treat you negatively. You handled the situation in the best way by not allowing the teacher to get under your skin as its the reaction we give which fuels their fire. You spoke of your teacher telling your mother bad things about you even when not true and that in itself was an injustice. It was very nice reading you using a personal life story as a way to give injustice a perfect definition. ”
15. ” Your post relates to mine when you identify a moment of injustice was when someone accused you of doing something based entirely on them just assuming. It sucks to know-how in a work environment you are forced to just take the pressure as it might affect your job. Luckily, you were able to transform this attack on you as a way to educate others on an example of injustice. Thanks for the blog. “
